We have seen in the previous video what is a business , and the purpose of any business.
For realizing this purpose, you must be a leader, and what does a leader :
A leader takes responsibilities from A to Z in his business.
What are those responsibilities ?
# 1 responsibility is to set and achieve business goals.
And in order to do that,you must be absolutely clear about the goals that you want to accomplish, and have them specific, measurable, and written . The leader’s responsibility is to think about the goals. about where he wants the company, the organization,his business, to be a week, a month, a year from now because that is not the responsibility of anyone else.
# 2 responsibility of leadership is to innovate and market
because only innovation and marketing creates customer satisfaction, creates new customers, and gets customers to come back.
So the leader’s responsibility is to continually seek newer, faster, better, cheaper, more efficient ways to first of all, attract new customers, to attract leads, marketing, promotion, Internet.
Second of all, is to convert those people to customers once you have attracted them, and then third of all is to satisfy them so much that they buy and buy again and tell their friends. And if you focus on this, this is the 20 percent of business activity that is responsible for 80 percent of the results.
#3 responsibility of leadership that you have is to solve problems and make decisions.
Every one, in any area of life has problems.
The only question is how do you handle them? And what we know is that weak people when things go wrong, they get upset, and angry, and they lash out, and they blame other people. What leaders do is they think about the solution.
Whatever your position, you as a leader are a problem solver and your ability to solve the problems of your job are the reasons that you are there and you only rise in life as you demonstrate your ability to solve greater problems. So think about solutions most of the time. Always say: what can we do now? What actions can we take now ?
What you do is you focus on actions that you can take now to solve the problem and here is the good news, the more you look for solutions the more solutions you will have.
The more you look for solutions the more creative you will become.
The more you look for solutions the more you will innovate and market and the smarter you will become in your business.
So think about solutions most of the time.
#4 responsibility of leadership is to set priorities and work on key tasks and activities.
Remember, you only have a certain amount of time each day and once a minute is used, you can never get it back. the top performers procrastinate on low value tasks and the low performers procrastinate on high value tasks.
So always make a list of everything you have to do before you start the day and then look at that list and ask this question, what can I and only I do that if done well will make a real difference? What can you and only you do at any given time that if done well will make a real difference?
Keep asking, what is the most valuable use of my time right now? And whatever it is, discipline yourself to start on your most important task.
Which brings us to #5, responsibility of leadership is to focus and concentrate.
The ability to focus and concentrate is the hallmark of the superior person.
Focus means you are absolutely clear about the most important thing you can do and concentration means you discipline yourself to focus and work just on that until it is complete.
Your ability to discipline yourself to complete your most important task is the key to your success. So keep making the main thing, the main thing.
#6 responsibility that you have as a leader is to set an example, is to be a role model to others, is to imagine that everyone is watching you and that you are setting the tone for your business, that everyone is going to do the things you do, everybody is observing you.
And so here is a great question that you could ask yourself:
What kind of a team would my team be if everybody in it was just like you? If everybody in it worked the way you do and treated other people the way you do?
Actually a good question is what kind of a family would my family be if everybody in it was just like me? And whatever your answer to that question, you will recognize there is probably room for improvement .
Set high standards for yourself and be a role model to other people.
And finally #7, responsibility of leadership is to perform and get results.
Results are everything
Always ask, and this is what leaders ask, what results are expected of me?
What results are required of me by my business and of all the results that I can contribute, what are the most important results that I can get?
And whatever they are, write them down, make a plan.
Start on them first thing and work on them, focus until they are done and in the end, your ability to get results will be the critical measure of how great a leader you really are.
