7 Reasons NOT to Have a J.O.B./Part 2

Reason #4

PANTYHOSE

As I write this, I’m working.

I’m wearing a tank top and shorts. I’ve got my feet propped up on the deck railing as birds sing at the feeder.

When I had a J.O.B., there was a dress code. And rules about what you could have on your desk. There was limited time for lunch, and no time for creativity. And don’t even get me started on pantyhose! Those high heels I wore were a killer by the end of the day too!!

What would you do with a million dollars?

#5 Reason

Your Money doesn’t go as far when you are an employee as almost half your salary will go to taxes.
You get to spend what’s left on living expenses. One of my first self-employed discoveries was that my money went MUCH further- investing in myself or supplies for my business. Owning your own business…helping your dollars expand…It’s a Good Thing!

Reason #6

Focusing on your Weaknesses.

Have you ever heard of a “360?”

That’s when your co-workers and supervisors (and anyone else who wants to chip in) analyze your job performance. You learn all about your weaknesses – and you get a review outlining the ways you need to work on them. Often, people leave these “360” reviews in tears.

In the world of the solo-preneur, we don’t mess with our weaknesses. The motto is Strengthen your Strengths. Hire your Weaknesses. In other words, as you become aware of your weaknesses, you don’t waste your precious energy fixing them.

Reason #7

Many office environments don’t encourage creative thinking or positive energy. Instead, there’s lots of negativity among employees who feel powerless.

In your own business, you set the tone, and you choose who enters your environment. You become deeply personally responsible for every aspect of your life.

This is often more uncomfortable than sitting back and blaming “The Man,” but it will absolutely free you.

7 Reasons Not to Have a J.O.B./Part one.

1. Having a Job is Way too Risky!!!!!!!

When you have a J.O.B. (JUST OVER BROKE), someone can take away your income just by uttering two words: “You’re Fired.” This is happening more and more as companies crumble in the face of global changes in commerce. Those 2 words do not exist in your own business.

If you ask me, there’s nothing secure about that. Especially for older citizens who find it difficult or next to impossible to get hired due to age or health related problems that limit the type of work they can do.

When you enjoy your own business, and a client or customer moves on – then guess what? You get to say, “Next!”

2. No Bonus Pay for Messing Up

When you mess up at your job, you get punished, maybe even a pay-cut. Then you have to run around “making nice” to the people who might lay you off or promote someone else who’s younger and “hungry.” (Hungry for what? More time at the office?)

When one of my clients faces challenges in her business, I cheer. She’s getting paid to learn! Every mistake teaches her more about how to succeed.

Instead of getting an MBA – she’s getting a TBF. (Trial by Fire! :-) ) TBF’s can really pay-off!

On my own, but not alone, in my office, my own business

On my own, but not alone, in my office, my own business

3. Your Ceiling isn’t Adjustable.

Often, I think about how hard I worked in my other life….ahem…corporate jobs. I’ve always been the type to give more than I get….work more hours than I get paid for…take work home for goodness sakes. Bet you know what I’m talking about. But, no matter how much more I gave…or how expert I became….once I reached the top salary of that particular billet….I couldn’t make more.

When I talk to new clients now about the possibilities being endless in owning their own business, their eyes light up. They stop thinking in terms of “hours for dollars,” and start thinking of passive income. (Hey, why not get paid while you sleep?)

In a job, you can’t adjust your income based on the value you provide. Instead you have to ask for a raise. Not fun, doesn’t always work and if you don’t get the raise…it affects your self-esteem.

Give yourself a raise anytime you want ….on a daily basis….by simply being who you are and sharing with others.

About: Surf the wave of change

Aloha, Ia’orana !

My name is Brigitte Charlon. I’m grateful that you visit my blog, and I wish you enjoy the tour!
I am surfer: on Pacific Ocean waves, and on Internet.
I am also a Marketer online, creator and author of my businesses and websites, for my Company : Consulting & Development,

Why I started Internet Marketing ?

Because I was not having fun at all anymore! After the fun of building a new business , early then come the time when trading my time for money, being paid by the hour, doing businesses that required too much of my time and energy for too small financial rewarding, all that is not “living” .

When I found out that the best way to live free and wealthy was leverage my investments, I started an Internet marketing business, and I want to share this with like minded people:
if you are anything like me, hopefully my story will inspire you to discover a better alternative just like I did when I decided to work from home and make money on line, having my own business.

But before I get into all of that…let me just tell you my story:

I was born and raised in France.
My father made his carrier with a big petroleum American company, and gave me the taste for traveling, and eventually, I caught that “American Dream” virus when I was 12.

But, France is a small , old country, and I my mind was shaped in that society to find it normal to live “small and old ways” and especially to avoid responsibility ,but being specialist at seeking assistance.
So I am so grateful that my parents succeeded to teach me this entrepreneurial way of living, in spite of their own old french fashion education .

I started being a life-guard at the age of 18, then a sports teacher, then worked in tourism and in air-transportation industries. After 7 years with different employers , including myself, who I worked for, I decided I would be a true entrepreneur, and never write a resume again.

I started a small business in the little town where I was living, on the French Riviera, and managed 4 employees.
At the age of 29, I met my husband, and became as well as his wife, his partner in his business: manage a fitness center. This is at this point of the story that you will start to understand why we decide to move our life out of France….
We both were running the Gym 12 hours a day, 6/7, no vacations. No time to enjoy our house, the sea and the sun. Sundays busy to make accounting, desperate to pay all taxes on time each month. Making good money, but giving it 60% to the government, with our time.
So we sold the gym, the furniture, the cars, left the family, and moved to Tahiti, French Polynesia.

I was now at the reach of my American dream, and after a lot of learning and experiences, I ended up creating my own company in Hawaii, while my husband still run his small business in Moorea.
We were giving ourselves a most enjoyable style of life, but still, running that kind of business (wholesale and retail) is taking a lot of time and stress, for just make this good living.

One day, I read the book of Robert Kyosaki: ‘Rich Dad-Poor Dad” and I realized that I needed to change my way of working. I had to position myself in that right part of the quadrant, and I started to search how I could make it.
I searched and tried many things on the internet, until I hit THE button: I started my Internet marketing business !
Since then, I have no more problems, I do what I like, when I like, where I like, no stress, no worries, and I do my work with pleasure, fun, and success !
I love my life with this work, and this freedom !I love my work ! I can see things differently now, be happy.
Big part of my work is networking, and speaking with people. I can tell I’m really having fun !

My life is really changed, and I would love to network and work with like minded people and really get the word out, share this with as many serious persons as possible.
